Every person you meet, every situation you find yourself in and everything that happens to you, is not only a reflection of your own state of being, but also an experience. It is a situation, a scenario from which you’re meant to learn. Keeping these two facts in mind will make change easier to manage. It will also prove very helpful when it comes to making positive thinking easy.

While it’s not always easy to keep your mind in positive thinking mode each day, building the skills to have positive thinking become almost second nature will offer up some great rewards! If you’re not sure where to start, try these tips for easy positive thinking.

Some negative thoughts are normal – but they need to go
If you know yourself to be a bit of a pessimist, you’re going to need to unclutter your mind. It’s difficult to think positively if your mind is plagued with negativity. To change your thought pattern to be more optimistic, learn to remove negative impact words such as always and never from your mental vocabulary. Instead of thinking, “I always screw things up”, think “I always learn from the mistakes I make.”

Find positive people!
You have to admit it’s hard to be negative when the people around you are positive, so find them and surround yourself with them. Being around negative energy — around people who are unmotivated, who complain, or who are constantly depressed — only emanates negativity. This level of negativity will have an effect on you as well so step away from them and find positive people.

Be responsible for you!
If you could ask any highly successful person one of their secrets to success, they would very likely admit it’s being responsible for their emotions. Playing the victim by lashing out is not exactly positive behavior. However, taking responsibility for your behavior by accepting responsibility for your own actions and not blaming others, will certainly help you think positively.

Goal setting
You may not realize the power of setting goals, but to ensure positive thinking, it helps to have a reason — such as a goal. Goal setting is an excellent way to motivate yourself and find reasons to overcome life’s obstacles. People who simply coast through life find it more difficult to gauge their progress and stay motivated.

There are many ways you can make daily changes to help encourage positive thinking. Surround yourself with people to whom you aspire. Share stories with other like-minded individuals and develop a new level of thinking. Shaking out the negative and replacing it with positive thoughts are sure ways to a successful life!
